III. Grand Master Huen-Yuan leads Weixinism for world peace.

1. Expounding the ideologies of Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and peace. Enhancing inner spiritual radiance.

Religious beliefs in Taiwan are heavily influenced by Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, forming a body of faith that is free of regional and spatial limitations and that shares global and universal characteristics. Its core concepts are derived from Confucianism, which, in philosophical and cultural scope complements Taoism. Buddhism is also integrated into the system, while Taiwanese folk beliefs function to keep everything under control. Taiwan’s religious tapestry has influenced Chinese traditions comprehensively. The three religions and two schools of thought , namely Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, depend on one another. Confucianism emphasizes filial piety and the morality and teaching of benevolence and justice.” Taoism urges respect for the Tao and virtue, and the importance of being kind, thrifty, humble, and calm. Buddhism focuses on the realization of causality through the media of loving kindness and wisdom. These three philosophies complement one another. Their final goal is to strike a balance between the individual and the vast universe, i.e., to achieve a state of perfect peace. Therefore, the combination of the three “religions,” which have become one in truth, is the beginning of the reuniting of all religions as well as the start of building world peace.

Weixinism is a religious doctrine that advocates peace, with the aim of propagating Chinese culture. It practices Neutrality, rooted in the essence of Yi-Ching, through the combination of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. Our religion is the benefactor of the Dharma of Chinese patriarchal traditions and combines the ideas of world peace embodied in Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. We use the name “Holy Weixinism” as the name for our movement and work diligently to create a future marked by universal harmony. Grand Master Huen-Yuan stated in the founding preamble of Holy Weixinism, “In 1983, Holy Weixinism commenced the promotion of Chinese cultural orthodoxy, Yi-Ching and Feng Shui, by organizing the ancient wisdom of sages and putting such into practice. From the Pure Land of Taiwan, we have actualized the teachings of Bodhisattva Wang Chan Lao Zu – the wonderful methods of Yi-Ching and Feng Shui. Thousands have benefitted from our work. Holy Weixinism allows followers to become increasingly at ease with their inner self and benefit from spiritual meditation. In this way, Weixinism is advancing humanity’s enlightenment into the 21st century. We shall continue to promote Weixinism for world peace, which is our genuine wish.”

Holy Weixinism is a wonderful method worthy of practice and promotion. It is the home of the human soul. Grand Master Huen-Yuan explained the four benefits for our practice as:
(1) Yi-Ching and Feng Shui corrects the direction of practitioners’ philosophies of life and creates a paradise on earth. The core of Yi, in particular, has proved itself over the course of millions of years. Yi is the beacon that humanity aspires to reach.
(2) Yi-Ching is the essence of Confucianism and our origin. It develops human potential and wisdom.
(3) Western (Indian) Buddhism reflects deep respect for human life. The statement that, “Everything visible is empty,” is the ultimate truth.
(4) The core of Bodhisattva Wang Chan Lao Zu’s Yi-Ching must be applied to daily life. It encapsulates the quintessence of ancient wisdom and of the hundred schools of philosophy developed over the last five thousand years. It should be reintroduced and applied for the sake of the future of all mankind in the 21st century. Using simple, easily understood concepts, this philosophy tells people to respect and follow heaven…and then go even further.

Grand Master Huen-Yuan has also said, “Our religious doctrines are truth that has been practiced, proved, and encouraged across the centuries. They will bring limitless luminosity to humanity. The light will shine to the four corners of the earth …. I humbly hope that heaven and the deities will protect mankind and resolve battles and wars. I also wish that people will care for one another and pray together for permanent peace in the world.”

Grand Master Huen-Yuan is a religious educator who commits himself to his great work while keeping a humble profile. He established Holy Weixinism by integrating the essence of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism (known as “three religions and two schools of philosophy”) and using Chinese orthodoxy, i.e., the study of Yi-Ching and Feng Shui, as the core to promote the concept of peace culture. For the past 28 years, he has altruistically worked incessantly for peace between Taiwan and Mainland China. He has also worked diligtently and practically for harmony throughout the world. He has integrated Buddhist classic philosophy and wisdom into Yi-Ching and Feng-Shui to inspire and enlighten the human soul. He has regularly delivered lectures on Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism on television since 1995, integrating them all to coax forth the innate goodness in human nature. His ultimate goal is to support peace throughout society. He inaugurated the “One Day Zen Event with a Thousand Buddhas at the Hsien Fo Temple (仙佛寺), the base of Weixinism in December 1997. The event is now held on the 4th Sunday of every month. He lectures publicly on Buddhist Sutras. He has further integrated Yi-Ching and Feng Shui with Zen. His half hour, nationally televised show “Myriad Facets of Yi-Ching and Feng Shui” has been broadcast daily for twelve years (since 1998) without break. He helps people develop their inner radiance and achieve social harmony. He said, “I’ve worked since 1983 to integrate Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and the concepts devised by our wise ancient sages together with Yi-Ching and Feng Shui. I have also worked diligently to put this philosophy into practice. I preach Tao and promote it to the world for the benefit of all humanity. People are happier because of it, which reinforces their faith and gives them he will to stay the course until they fully realize the wisdom themselves ... I wish that everyone can follow this path, open their heart, welcome the treasure of Chinese culture, and ultimately create a paradise on earth and achieve true world peace.”

Grand Master Huen-Yuan has continuously promoted Chinese cultural orthodoxy in the form of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism over the past 28 years. He takes Yi as the origin, Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism as the body, and Yi-Ching and Feng Shui as the application, and applies his philosophy in daily life. It benefits and helps people of all social and professional backgrounds to dispel worry and confusion. It expands their soul and nurtures inner radiance. The Grand Master has worked with numerous people, and his devotion has had great influence. The dedication of Grand Master Huen-Yuan to promoting Yi-Ching and Feng Shui study with the peaceful philosophies of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism can help achieve world peace. His work deserves recognition and emulation.
